Parody “New Yorker” Cover

For this class we were tasked making a parody New Yorker cover discussing something about our contemporary world. The idea I came to was one of utilizing technology in more ridiculous ways, with my example being people using amazing technology like Virtual Reality to make a VR chess game, despite being able to play chess without a VR headset at all.

The piece shows the two people playing VR chess, while sitting at a chess set in a park. refusing to use the real chess set. This example was chosen for its simplicity, without needed an enormous amount of outside information to understand what is happening. The viewer can look at the piece and immediately understand what is happening in the piece with little to no confusion.
